Pharmacy Technician

Join our dynamic pharmacy team as a Pharmacy Technician, where you'll play a vital role in supporting medication distribution for both inpatient and outpatient care. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospital environment, values precision, and is passionate about patient safety and care.

What You’ll Do

Assist pharmacists in preparing and delivering medications accurately and efficiently

Maintain inventory systems including Pyxis stock and CII Safe

Repackage medications and support unit dose systems

Perform monthly medication checks to ensure quality and compliance

Clean and disinfect the pharmacy clean room per established protocols

Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and patients

Uphold safety standards and regulatory compliance (Joint Commission, Maryland Board of Pharmacy, USP 795/800)

Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED (required)

Previous pharmacy technician experience (preferred)

Registered Maryland Board of Pharmacy Technician (required)

National Certification (preferred)

Must obtain Maryland license within 30 days if licensed in another state

Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Strong understanding of medical terminology

Physical & Mental Requirements

This role requires frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and fine hand/eye coordination. Mental demands include sustained attention to detail, multitasking, and effective communication.
