Electrical CAD Drafter
The Electrical CAD Drafter is responsible for the creation of electrical wiring diagrams, schematics, and bill of materials management.
The Electrical CAD Drafter is responsible for collaborating with engineers and other professionals to understand the requirements of the electrical system to produce drawings to assist the avionics team in installations, modifications, and integrations in various aircraft.

Essential Functions

- Creates wiring schematics, cable designs, and bill of materials on CAD software. This is done under the guide and collaboration with DST Electrical Engineers. (80%)
- Documents and archives projects electrical data for future use in planning, referencing, and quoting needs. This will include preparing data for FAA review and approval. (10%)
- Interacts with DST Avionics team to review and implement project needs under the guide of DST Electrical Engineers. (10%)
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday at 40 hours per week; with core engineering hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Frequent evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. One remote work day is permissible on either Monday, Tuesday or Thursday; subject to agreement with the Engineering Manager.
Travel
Occasional travel to other customer sites within the continental United Stated may be required. Up to 5% travel time is possible with this position.
Required Education and Experience
- Minimum High School diploma or GED, ideally an Associate’s Degree.
- Understanding of electrical engineering drawings and cable harness designs.
- Extensive knowledge PCs, operating systems and office software.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Drafting or CAD certification.
- One (1) year of experience as a CAD Drafter.
- Experience within the aviation industry.
Other Hiring Requirements
- Valid Driver's License.
- US Citizenship is required to obtain/maintain a United States Security Clearance.
- Must pass a DOT/FAA regulated drug screening.
- Must be able to obtain a passport.
