Medical Office Assistant
We are an established and growing integrative medicine clinic in Bethesda, Maryland. We are seeking a dependable, energetic Medical Office Assistant to join our team. This is a hands-on, active role where you’ll help keep the clinic running smoothly and support exceptional patient care. It’s an excellent fit for pre-health students (pre-med, pre-PA, pre-nursing). Medical Assistant certification is not required, this is an entry-level position.
You’ll spend the majority of your shift on the move, bending, lifting, and on your feet preparing treatment rooms, assisting with front desk operations as needed and patient tasks.
What You’ll Do
- Champion Patient Experience: Greet and check in patients warmly, assist with initial symptom screening, and process check-out efficiently.
- Support Scheduling & Documentation: Assist with scheduling and documentation, ensuring accuracy across all patient records and communications (using Google Workspace/Microsoft Office). Accurately collect payments.
- Perform General Administrative Duties: Maintain essential office functions, including scanning, filing, managing phone calls, and email follow-up.
- Assist with Clinic Workflow: Directly support providers with daily workflow. Manage patient treatment rooms, ensuring timely setup, sanitization, and changeover between every patient.
- Uphold community safety — follow infection-control standards and guidelines, wear KN95 masks, maintain a fragrance-free environment, practice hand hygiene (short clean nails), frequent sanitization of high-touch areas, etc.
- Process Inventory: Assist with inventory by tracking stock needs and ensuring supplies are fully stocked and organized.
- Be a True Team Player: On our team everyone contributes, whether it’s assisting a colleague, preparing a room, taking care of plants, caring for patients, or keeping the office looking its best.
