JOB SUMMARY            

Interns gain hands-on experience performing meaningful tasks and project work within their assigned location.  Opportunities range from operational support to strategic initiatives that directly impact the business. 

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITES

· Collaborate in small teams to tackle a business challenge guided by APR mentors.  Teams will present their solutions at a Capstone Event at the end of the program to Executive Leadership.

· Learn and grow through weekly training modules, featuring courses such as Business Etiquette, Critical Thinking Skills, Intro to HVAC, Team Excellence, and Wholesaling 101.

· Familiarize and understand the key players, trends and challenges of the wholesale distribution industry

· Learn about specific processes and operations of industry such as order processing, inventory            management and logistics

· Network with colleagues and other interns, building relationships and opportunities for learning and  collaboration

· Observe and learn from different departments to gain a holistic view of the business such as sales,    marketing, operations and finance

· Gain an understanding how the company manages relationships with customers by observing sales    processes, customer service interactions and feedback mechanisms

· Learn how to provide exceptional customer service to build and maintain positive relationships and gain insight to customer needs and preferences

· Develop technical skills relevant to the industry such as inventory management software, understanding supply chain systems or using data analysis tools

· Stay organized to help manage your time effectively and ensure that you meet your deadlines

· Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy and effectiveness

· Stay current with industry views and trends to understand the broader context in which the wholesale distributor operates 

· Other duties as assigned
