Introduction: We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Computational Imaging Research Intern to join our dynamic team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that combine image processing, GPU programming, and artificial intelligence for imaging. As part of our team, you will contribute to revolutionary advancements in medical imaging technology and play a crucial role in our innovative research efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize code to process images on GPUs.
- Perform matrix calculations and analysis for image processing.
- Apply image processing techniques to enhance image quality and extract meaningful information.
- Utilize artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms for pattern recognition and advanced image analysis.
- Collaborate with team members to design, implement, and validate computational imaging solutions.
- Document and present research findings and progress to the team.
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python.
- Experience with GPU programming and optimization.
- Solid understanding of matrix calculations and numerical analysis.
- Familiarity with image processing techniques and algorithms.
- Basic knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
- Previous experience in computational imaging or medical imaging research.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Good communication skills and the ability to present complex technical information clearly.
- Passion for innovation and a strong desire to learn and grow in the field of computational imaging.
Qualifications:
- Preferred Majors: MS or PhD student in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Candidates must meet at least one of the following:
- Currently pursuing an MS or PhD at a Maryland university with a GPA of>2.5.
- Graduated from a Maryland university with a BS, MS, or PhD in <12 months.
Duration:
- Duration: This internship can span 1-2 semesters.
- Hours: 220 hours per semester.
- Location: On-site (Rockville, MD)
- Attendance: Required on fixed days of the week.

- There is a high potential for a well-performing intern to become a full-time employee at the end of the internship term.
