Events Marketing Intern

About Bogey’s Mix

Bogey’s Mix makes the freshest, most savory meal prep for dogs right in our Leesburg, VA commercial kitchen.

Our recipes have the highest protein of any fresh dog food brand, made with fresh human-grade meat, and priced more affordably than competitors.

We’re on a mission to change how dog parents feed their pets across the DMV because we believe feeding fresh helps dogs live longer, healthier lives.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a confident, organized, dog-loving intern to help grow Bogey’s Mix by running and promoting in-person events across the DMV.

You’ll be helping create buzz, connect with dog parents, and turn great conversations into subscriptions.

This is a high-impact startup role where you’ll help plan events, create social media content, and continuously improve how we show up in the community.

Compensation

  • $100 paid for every event you attend
  • Events typically run about 4 hours, with additional setup and breakdown time
  • 2–4 events per week are typically available
  • Commission opportunities available for subscriptions generated through your events and promotions

What You’ll Do

  • Promote events and products on social media
  • Help drive awareness for farmers markets, yappy hours, pet festivals, and other community events
  • Serve as the lead Bogey’s Mix rep on-site alongside other interns
  • Set up and manage the event booth, engage with customers, and handle breakdown
  • Talk with dog parents in a friendly, casual way about our food, mission, and subscription options
  • Capture event content (videos, photos, dog moments, customer reactions)
  • Turn event content into social media posts after each event
  • Work closely with our Events Coordinator and co-founders on strategy, messaging, and improving the booth experience
  • Help drive subscriptions through in-person conversations and event-related social content

Requirements

  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Comfortable talking with lots of people and representing the brand at events
  • Interest in event marketing and social media content
  • Available on weekends (most events are Saturdays and Sundays)
  • Reliable transportation to travel within the DMV
  • Comfortable around dogs and passionate about dog health

Bonus (Not Required)

  • Experience working events, pop-ups, brand ambassador roles, or customer-facing sales
  • Photography or video editing experience
  • Background in marketing, entrepreneurship, communications, or business

What You’ll Gain

  • Flexible schedule with real ownership of events
  • Commission-based earning potential
  • Hands-on startup experience working directly with founders
  • Marketing, events, and growth experience you can’t get in a typical internship
  • The chance to make a real impact in a fast-growing pet wellness brand
