Internship in Human Resources

In this role, you will work closely with the Human Resources Manager, supporting a variety of HR activities to ensure smooth operations and an outstanding employee experience.

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION

TITLE:                            Intern, Human Resources

REPORTS TO:                Human Resources Manager

SUMMARY:                   This position will work with the human resources department, supporting an assortment of human resources activities.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Employee engagement

  • Work in tandem with HR Manager and the social activities workgroup on org-wide social events. Create surveys, contact vendors, draft internal communications for staff, among other duties.
  • Process weekly core awards and draft announcements for employee recognition programs.

Recruiting & Onboarding

  • Assist with recruitment by maintaining job postings, reviewing resumes, and scheduling interviews.
  • Assist with onboarding new staff by setting up onboarding templates and monitoring progression, creating system profiles, and preparing informative documents.
  • Conduct mid-point HR check-ins.

Employee Development

  • Assist with learning and development initiatives by helping plan, prepare, and deliver staff training.

Human Resources Operations

Perform administration of HR functions as assigned.

  • Provide basic administrative, logistical, and data-entry support to all Human Resources functions and projects. These might include:
    • Running reports, document management, HR system maintenance, and audits.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled in a liberal arts and/or business program.
  • Interest in the human resources profession.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive issues.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and the ability to learn new software programs quickly.

COMPENSATION

  • You may be able to earn credit hours for this internship. Please check with your academic institution.
  • A total stipend of $1,500 will be distributed in two installments: one at the internship’s midpoint and the other at its conclusion.

COMMITMENT:

  • 10-20 hours per week, Monday – Friday, with flexible scheduling. 
  • Summer 2026: June through August with potential to extend into fall months.
