Technical Operations & Testing Intern

MotionSafe is seeking 3–5 paid Summer Interns to support Technical Operations & Testing at our Sterling, VA office. This internship is ideal for students interested in applied technology, systems testing, and working in a fast-paced defense technology environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with system testing and validation of advanced defense technology systems
  • Write technical reports, summaries, and supporting documentation
  • Perform basic troubleshooting on hardware and software systems
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and technical staff on active projects

Minimum Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Business Information Systems, or a related field
  • Strong written communication and documentation skills
  • Comfortable working with technology in a hands-on, applied setting
  • Able to learn quickly and contribute in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment

System Testing & Validation: Assist with testing protocols by connecting and configuring test equipment, running established test procedures, and documenting results in a structured format.

Technical Report Writing: Draft clear, professional technical reports summarizing test findings, system performance observations, and troubleshooting outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.

Basic Troubleshooting: Perform first-line troubleshooting on hardware and software systems, escalating complex issues to senior engineers while maintaining detailed documentation of steps taken.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interface directly with engineers, project managers, and program staff, serving as a bridge between technical teams and operational reporting requirements.


 

What We’re Looking For

Currently pursuing a degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Business Information Systems, Technology Management, or a related field. You should be someone who is comfortable around technology without necessarily being a programmer or hardware engineer. Strong written communication skills are essential, as is an eagerness to learn in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
