About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Center Electrical Design Engineer to support the design, construction, commissioning, and operation of mission-critical data center facilities. This role will work closely with project managers, consultants, contractors, and operations teams to ensure reliable and efficient electrical infrastructure for large-scale data center environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design and development of electrical systems for data center projects.
- Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, and contractors throughout project design and construction phases.
- Review electrical drawings, technical submittals, and construction documents.
- Participate in commissioning, startup testing, and system validation activities.
- Provide technical support for power distribution systems, UPS systems, generators, and other critical infrastructure.
- Assist with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning for electrical system issues.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and engineering assessments as needed.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, building codes, and safety requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, efficiency, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in electrical design, construction, or mission-critical facility operations.
- Experience with electrical power distribution systems, UPS, generators, switchgear, and building management systems (BMS).
- Strong understanding of electrical design principles, construction practices, and commissioning processes.
- Familiarity with industry standards and codes such as NEC and NFPA.
- Experience using AutoCAD, Visio, Bluebeam, or similar engineering software.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience working in data center, mission-critical, or critical facility environments.
- Knowledge of high-voltage substation design and electrical infrastructure systems.
