Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Administrative Assistant to join our small tax CPA firm. We are located in downtown Frederick and our clients are a mix of small businesses, wealthy and middle-class workers and retirees, as well as trusts and estates.
This is an entry-level opportunity ideal for someone interested in accounting, finance, and professional services. This position offers hands-on exposure to tax preparation, client service, and office operations, with significant potential for learning, growth, and career advancement.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer phone calls and greet visitors in person
- Maintain and organize physical and digital client files
- Respond to simple queries and gather client information by email and phone
- Assist with invoicing and tracking client payments
- Perform scanning and basic data entry
- Monitor and restock office supplies as needed
- Assist with electronic filing and tracking the status of e-file submissions
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; further education is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Integrity in handling confidential information
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Desire to learn
- Basic computer and typing proficiency
Work Schedule
- Full-time, generally 9 to 5, with an hour for lunch, Monday to Friday.
Compensation
- $41,600 per year
- Two weeks of paid vacation time per year
- Health insurance is fully covered
