Administrative Assistant

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Administrative Assistant to join our small tax CPA firm. We are located in downtown Frederick and our clients are a mix of small businesses, wealthy and middle-class workers and retirees, as well as trusts and estates.

This is an entry-level opportunity ideal for someone interested in accounting, finance, and professional services. This position offers hands-on exposure to tax preparation, client service, and office operations, with significant potential for learning, growth, and career advancement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer phone calls and greet visitors in person
  • Maintain and organize physical and digital client files
  • Respond to simple queries and gather client information by email and phone
  • Assist with invoicing and tracking client payments
  • Perform scanning and basic data entry
  • Monitor and restock office supplies as needed
  • Assist with electronic filing and tracking the status of e-file submissions

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; further education is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Integrity in handling confidential information
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Desire to learn
  • Basic computer and typing proficiency

Work Schedule

  • Full-time, generally 9 to 5, with an hour for lunch, Monday to Friday.

Compensation

  • $41,600 per year
  • Two weeks of paid vacation time per year
  • Health insurance is fully covered
