Gas Recycling Process Control Engineer
Job Title: R&D Engineer – Process Control and Systems Integration
Project Overview
We are seeking a Process Control and System Integration Engineer to support the development of an advanced Argon Recycling System for directed energy deposition additive manufacturing. This role focuses on integration of gas handling equipment, additive manufacturing hardware, purification processes, instrumentation, automation systems, and industrial process controls to develop a reliable and intelligent manufacturing platform. The position requires a multidisciplinary background in process engineering, gas handling systems, and automated process control algorithm development.
Key Responsibilities
As the technical expert, you will oversee the design and execution of the following core pillars:
- Lead the integration of the argon recycling system with directed energy deposition additive manufacturing equipment, including gas circulation, filtration, and process monitoring subsystems.
- Design and optimize process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), gas distribution networks, and equipment interfaces to maximize process efficiency, reliability, and safety.
- Design closed-loop process control strategies for regulating argon flow rate, pressure, oxygen concentration, humidity, and gas purity using real-time sensor feedback.
- Design and implement PLC- or PC-based equipment control systems, human-machine interfaces (HMI), and data acquisition systems for integrated manufacturing operations.
- Support commissioning, validation, troubleshooting, and optimization of integrated manufacturing systems in laboratory and production environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements, testing protocols, and performance validation strategies.
- Support prototype development, testing, troubleshooting, and iterative design improvements.
- Document system design, operational procedures, and technical reports for internal and external stakeholders.
