HR Coordinator

Position Summary:

The HR Coordinator helps with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources department. The HR Coordinator carries out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: departmental development, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organization development, executive administration, employment, and other HR-related activities as needed. The position assists with best practices and Human Resource objectives and reports to the Human Resources Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Supporting HR initiatives such as employee surveys and training programs.
  • Maintaining personnel files and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Updating HR-related information on the company’s intranet.
  • Review and approve hires, transfers, and terminations submitted by managers to ensure HR procedures are followed
  • Evaluating and reporting on the effectiveness of training programs/recommend optimization
  • Partnering with HR Team to coordinate recruiting events and activities
  • Handle employee requests regarding HR issues, rules and regulations.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Providing logistical support for benefits, performance management, and other HR functions.
  • Reviewing and screening applicants to assess qualifications.
  • Conducting interviews (phone, virtual, and in-person) for open positions.
  • Scheduling interviews and coordinating with hiring managers.
  • Maintaining accurate records in the applicant tracking system.
  • Staying informed on current recruitment practices.
  • Preparing offer letters and coordinating onboarding activities.

  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to move within the office and other locations in the building.
  • Lifting up to approx. 35 lb. occasionally
  • Occasional lifting of files, opening cabinets, and standing or bending as needed.

Travel:

  • Valid Drivers License required
  • Occasional local travel, particularly to college campuses during peak recruitment periods, including on-campus interviews and internship programs 

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 2+ years of experience in Human Resources or a related field.
