Warehouse Operations Intern

Overview

JK Moving’s Early Career Program is designed with you in mind! JK Moving, the largest independent moving company in the United States is seeking a Warehouse Operations intern for Summer 2020. As a Warehouse Operations Intern, you will work from our Corporate Offices in Sterling, VA. During this internship you will assist in the coordination, planning and implementation of receiving, storing, retrieving, and distributing shipments and materials within a large warehouse facility. 

Responsibilities

• Team player who can foster a team- oriented work environment & maintain positive relationships with crew, customers, logistics coordinators, and sales staff.
• Assist in the coordination of daily logistical operations requirements and assign manpower and resources accordingly.
• Assists the Warehouse Manager in the management of policies, programs, and procedures for Warehouse operations and other operational activities
• Collaborates with the Warehouse Manager to monitor the proficiency of the crews and recommends process improvements and training solutions to enhance the service to the client.
• Special Projects as identified.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain management, logistics or a related field preferred
• Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong time management and project management skills
• Works independently, as well as in a team environment.
