Position: Direct Support Professional – Certified Medical Technician
Location: In-Person, Maryland
Compensation: $17–$21/hour

We are currently offering paid employment with advancement potential, paid internships, and community service hour credits for college students pursuing degrees in Sociology, Psychology, Education, Nursing, or related fields.
Position Summary:
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Certified Medical Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and daily enrichment of individuals within either our Day Program or Residential settings. DSPs help individuals achieve greater independence and community integration while adhering to all agency and state health care regulations.
This is a valuable opportunity for students looking to gain hands-on experience working with diverse populations, develop transferable skills, and contribute meaningfully to the lives of others.
Reports To:
- Program Manager / Coordinator / Supervisor
- Delegating Nurse (as applicable)
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for individuals served
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, community outings, and medical appointments
- Administer medications under the delegation of the agency nurse
- Support individuals in achieving personal goals and documenting measurable outcomes
- Encourage skill-building and community inclusion
- Participate in intake assessments and contribute to individual care plans
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services, behavior, incidents, and progress
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate or Bachelor’s in related field preferred)
- Certified Nursing Assistant and Medication Technician certification (MTTP)
- CPR/First Aid certified
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
- Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, email, data entry)
- Commitment to professionalism, reliability, and confidentiality
- Open to learning and receiving feedback
Preferred Academic Background:
- Current students or recent graduates in Sociology, Psychology, Education, or Nursing
- Seeking to gain real-world experience in human services, developmental disabilities, and direct care
